Mr. Chao of TAITRA opened his key speech by commenting on Taipei AMPA being the most professional automobile after-sales service show in Asia, and is proud that AMPA 2008 has found a new home at the newly built Nangang Exhibition Hall, which is twice the size of Exhibition Hall I, meaning it can now accommodate the vast demand from manufacturers for show space. Mr. Chao added that 937 manufacturers will use 2,494 booths across the AMPA 2008 venue, a 13.6% increase in the number of exhibitors compared with last year, and a 30% increase in the number of booths.

Held for the first time at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall, Mr. Hsieh of the MOEA also lauded the grand opening of Taipei AMPA 2008, adding that both the number of manufacturers and booth occupancy are at historical highs, showing that Taiwan's auto parts and accessories industry is growing stronger and stronger and helping make the show a success year on year. With a much bigger and larger showground, this year's AMPA event will certainly attract more international buyers, according to Hsieh. He went on to say that joint efforts of government and the industry can make a difference and can spur Taiwan to new heights of success on the global market. Auto parts and accessories that are made in Taiwan are known to the world and "Made in Taiwan" has become synonymous with innovative technology and excellent quality, said Hsieh. He later concluded his speech by giving out his best wishes to everyone present at AMPA and wished success for all related events in advance.

After all key speeches were held by important dignitaries, the AMPA Innovation Awards was then proceeded to wrap up to opening ceremony. Awards were handed out to those awarded companies for their innovative products.
