Chery QQ5 to go on sale later this year
Time:2008-05-15
By George Gao
Shanghai, May 14 (Gasgoo.com) The long-awaited Chery QQ5 will be go on sale in the second half of 2008. The QQ5, as a larger version of the QQ3, is designed to meet the diverse market demands for the Chery mini-cars.

Though it's a two-door car, the QQ5 is much larger than the QQ3 and weighs 1050kg. The new Chery mini-car is expected to come with a 1.3L engine, which is the same as in the Chery A1, and will be equipped with the AMT gearbox to reach a top speed of 167km/h. With its much sophisticated design and improved craftsmanship, the Chery QQ5 is ready for mass production and will be put onto the market in the second half of 2008.

This cute, fashionable, round-faced Chery QQ5 was first unveiled as a model named-coded Chery S16 at the 2005 Shanghai auto show. The QQ5 recently took part in C-NCAP crash testing where it faired reasonably well against the giant crashing and testing machines of NCAP.

Both the QQ3 and QQ5 are two of the new car models that Chery will launch this year.
