Successful Conclusion of Taipei AMPA and AutoTronics

Demonstrated a Buying Boom for Auto Parts

Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Taipei, Apr. 15 2010 “Taipei International Auto Parts & Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA) and Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics)” closed today. The four-day-long exhibition attracted over 51,000 visitors, of whom more than 5,400 were foreign buyers, a 3% growth over the last exhibition. Many exhibitors said that this years exhibition was surrounded with a buying atmosphere. There were more foreign buyers than last year, many of whom were from emerging markets such as Russia, the Middle East, and Egypt. Exhibitors also said they were happy because in addition to renewing links with existing customers, they were able to develop many new clients and gain orders. Results of the on-site questionnaire survey made by TAITRA have shown that 80% of buyers highly appreciated the diversity of this exhibition and expressed they had found right suppliers, too. Their high marks given to the exhibition indicated that the auto parts industry in Taiwan is full of energy and that this exhibition has been recognized by buyers around the world.

Many interesting and innovative products were showcased in the exhibition this year. For example, among the most popular ones was a car, which is presented by Fu Bu Auto Parts Co., Ltd, installed with a pneumatic shock absorber combined with video games on which buyers could experiment on the site. This creative product, not only providing good entertainment but also demonstrating its superior quality, aroused a lot of discussion right on the spot. Meanwhile, the latest developed vehicle cleaning products made by the Michelin Company, which took part in this exhibition for the first time, and the fascinated Taiwan-made car mats also attracted many buyers. In addition, the latest version of lithium iron batteries developed by the Lifetech Energy Inc. (強德電能) has amazed buyers by its stable quality and compact size. It is also worth mentioning that the "Taiwan SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) Gallery”, although a first-time campaign, was a resounding success, too. The display area was set up at the main entrance of the Nangang Exhibition Hall, where 25 vendors displayed 54 eye-catching products. Excellent products showcased at an excellent location easily attracted many buyers to keep the booths popular through the four-day show.

“One-on-One Procurement Meetings” held on April 13th caused another wave of purchasing atmosphere. TAITRA invited many major buyers around the world, such as PEUGEOT CITROEN and FAURECIA from France, BROSE from Germany, Guangzhou Automobile Group from China, and ACCESS INC. from Japan. It was here that 950 meetings with more than 40 Taiwanese exhibitors were conducted with an estimated annual transaction amount of 25.33 million US dollars to be created. In addition, there were 24 seminars held on April 12th and 13th in which Taiwanese manufacturers made all-out efforts to present their new products to the 700 domestic and overseas participants, causing active participation and arousing good response from the audience.

2011 Taipei AMPA and AutoTronics will be held on April 12 to 15, 2011 at the Nangang Exhibition Hall. It is our intention to promote the energy-saving trend. Thus, the zone to display "EV/HEV Parts & Components" will be expanded to even include a test ride on the electric vehicles. Please keep updated with the upcoming event.
